Along
with Nick, Becks finished her Modern History at St John's in 2002. She
is a committed and enthusiastic charity worker, who, while at Oxford,
was President of the University branch of Amnesty International, taught
English at a school for immigrant children and contributed time and
skill to a number of other causes and appeals. This year she has been
working for an organisation that cares for the elderly in Bridlington,
Yorkshire and privately nursed a paraplegic patient. As do many of us,
Becks wants to pursue a career in the voluntary sector, but first plans
to attend Medical School, and of course marry her fiancée, Rob.
Becks has been crucial in organising some of the more logistical elements
of the trip and taken on the job getting to grips with the bureaucratic
challenges that await us. She has also raised considerable sums of money
from Unions and local organisations.
